Charlie Tellessen is a fused glass artist working out of his home studio in Troutdale, Oregon. He has a background in chemical engineering and is the Quality Control Supervisor of Bullseye Glass. He is also volunteering at a local elementary school introducing the craft of fused glass to students. His wife is an environmental water scientist studying ways to monitor and clean stormwater runoff.
"There are many similarities between the fluidity of glass and rivers, trying to control both can be challenging and rewarding," says Tellessen. "As I was creating the glass piece, the imagery of a turbulent shoreline drew me towards the driftwood as a perfect combination to show the cause and effect of the image created within the glass."
